     Dear Kind and Generous Folks,

I am running the San Diego Marathon on June 1st, 2008 in order raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society its Team in Training program.  Here are a couple of things you need to appreciate about my efforts:

    1.       50%, approximately, of money raised for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society comes through endurance athletes’ efforts with Team in Training.

    2.      You are funding research to defeat blood-related cancers, and patient support, and not a marathon in which I am participating on June1st, San Diego.

Value of a Donation to the

    Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

$1000     Weeks salary for medical researcher.

       $500       Patient financial aid

$200       Family Support program for one year.

$100       3 patients’ access to informational teleconference

$75          Tissue for one bone marrow donor

$50         CT scan – average cost of one

       $25          Prescription co-payment
